On video: Herzog called for a halt to the legislation of the legal reform (Photo: Leam)
This week, President Yitzhak Herzog contacted the legal adviser to the government, Gali Beharev-Miara, and asked her to allow Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to participate in the talks on legal reform - this is what journalist Gidi Weitz reported this evening (Thursday) in "Haaretz".
Beharev Miara informed Netanyahu last month that he was prevented from engaging in reform due to the conflict of interest agreement he signed as part of his criminal trial, but Herzog nevertheless approached her and asked her to reconsider the decision, and to allow Netanyahu to participate in the compromise talks he is trying to lead in the matter of reform.
She replied in the negative to the president.

According to the report, the adviser replied in the negative to the president and repeated her position that Netanyahu cannot be a party to the talks.
Earlier this week, Netanyahu also sent a request to Beharev Miara asking her to allow him to engage and express himself regarding the President's outline, and to her, too, the answer was negative.
