Jerusalem Governorate: The occupation demolishes Palestinian homes and facilities in Jerusalem as a war crime

Jerusalem Governorate confirmed that the Israeli occupation’s demolition of Palestinian homes and facilities in the occupied city is a dangerous escalation that falls within the framework of war crimes, ethnic cleansing and forced displacement against the Palestinian people.

The governorate said in a statement today, reported by Wafa Agency: The occupation authorities are tightening the noose on Jerusalemites by all means, as they deploy their checkpoints in all the streets of Jerusalem and abuse young men, women, the elderly and the sick daily, especially at the checkpoints of Shuafat and Qalandia camps, and also prevent Palestinians in Jerusalem from urban expansion in the city. Exorbitant taxes are imposed on their homes and properties or they are demolished, forcing their owners to pay large fines to cover the cost of demolition and removal of backfill.

The governorate called on the international community to stop the Israeli occupation's flagrant violations of international law and the Geneva Conventions, noting that statements of condemnation are not sufficient and do not constitute real pressure on the occupation to stop its crimes, which makes it persist in it.
