Senate launches Constitution lessons with students and jurists

(ANSA) - ROME, FEBRUARY 16 - A Constitution lesson, one a month, for many students present in the Senate building and others connected in streaming.

It is the initiative supported by the Senate and entitled 'The hour of the Constitution' which foresees a cycle of meetings with constitutionalists who will illustrate the main articles of the Constitution to the students.

The contents will also be disseminated through the Ansa website.

The idea of ​​the cycle of insights came from Alberto Balboni, president of the Constitutional Affairs commission of Palazzo Madama.

The idea of ​​this initiative is to make our Charter fully known".     The meetings will be held at 10.30 in the Sala Koch or in the Sala Capitolare of the Senate and will begin on 23 February with the lecture by the president emeritus of the Constitutional Court, Giuliano Amato on the fundamental principles of the Charter (from articles 1 to 12).

An in-depth analysis with the former president of the Senate, Marcello Pera, dedicated to the rights and duties of citizens (from articles 13 to 28) will follow on 23 March;

on 20 April with the vice-president of the Constitutional Court, Nicolò Zanon and focused on ethical-social relations (from articles 29 to 47) while on 18 May Luciano Violante, former president of the Chamber, will discuss the political relations, envisaged by the Constitution in the articles ranging from 48 to 54. After the summer break,

lessons will resume in September and will be dedicated to the second part of the Constitution.
