The civil defense teams in Lattakia governorate received an integrated rescue kit, provided by the Emirati rescue team, which participated in the search for missing persons under the rubble in the city of Jableh.
The kit includes special equipment for cutting, welding, drilling and penetrating concrete blocks, ventilation units, a unit for fixing and strengthening buildings to ensure the safe conduct of the rescue operation, rescue ropes of different lengths and sizes, sensors, cameras, night lighting units and cushions to remove the concrete blocks, and medical equipment to provide medical support on site ( tactical ambulance) and other equipment.
Lieutenant Colonel Hamad Muhammad al-Kaabi, commander of the Emirates Search and Rescue Team, explained to SANA reporter that the initiative that I directed the leadership in his country with the aim of joint training cooperation with the Syrian Civil Defense, to prepare teams with a high level of efficiency and experience to deal with various types of communications and rapid and appropriate response in disasters and crises, considering The Emirati team is the first of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa to win heavy international accreditation to carry out search and rescue operations in urban areas.
According to Al-Kaabi, the plan includes setting up a technical training program specialized in technical fields related to search and rescue operations in the affected areas, mainly cities, and benefiting from advanced technologies such as sensors, penetration, training in rescue from heights, and how to install buildings.
In turn, the Director of Civil Defense in Lattakia, Brigadier General Jalal Daoud, thanked the United Arab Emirates for the assistance it provides to support the Syrian people, indicating that this provided group contributes to developing the work system, improving the level of response and raising the efficiency of performance, because the unjust blockade imposed on Syria caused a severe shortage of equipment. and equipment, which affected the progress of rescue operations during the period following the earthquake disaster.
