The number of victims of the devastating earthquake that struck southern Turkey on the sixth of February has risen to 36,187 people.
The Anadolu Agency quoted the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority as saying in a statement today: “About 216,347 people have been evacuated so far from the earthquake-stricken areas,” and that more than 253,000 search and rescue personnel are currently working in the field.
A previous toll indicated that more than 35,000 people were killed as a result of the earthquake, in an unconfirmed outcome.
