The leaders of the struggle against the government's plan to weaken the justice system have declared this coming Monday as a "day of national struggle".
In a statement they gave today (Thursday) at Beit Sokolov in Tel Aviv, they detailed the next steps of the protest and said that marches in various cities, business shutdowns and a demonstration in Jerusalem in front of the Knesset are planned next week.
"The general public is called upon to mobilize for the effort," they called.
"This coming Monday, the Knesset will bring the Basic Law of the Dictatorship to a vote," they said in a statement.
"This is probably the most dangerous law among the legislation that is brought forward. If the law is brought to a vote and passes - negotiations will be clearly illegitimate. This is a point where at any stage the coalition can pass the legislation."
"This coming Monday we are announcing a national day of protest. The day will include morning marches and demonstrations in the cities, shutdowns of some businesses, and a demonstration in Jerusalem in front of the Knesset while the Knesset is proposing the dictatorship law. We call on the general public to join the effort, we see how much the demonstrations are shaking the coalition - More harnesses and we will be able to overthrow the basic law of the dictatorship," the organizers added.
