Numerous damages to the ancient Citadel of Aleppo as a result of the earthquake ranged, according to the General Directorate of Antiquities and Museums, between light and medium, most notably:

The entrance to the advanced tower, which is the main door of the castle, was damaged. A drop was observed in the dipping ceiling of the arch that holds the entrance to the castle. The entrance tiles cracked, the arch of the door entrance to the tower fell, and several stones fell from the lintel of the entrance vault.

The fall of parts of the northern, eastern, southern and western defensive walls.

Long cracks and dislocations in the facades of the minaret of the Ayyubid mosque in the Citadel and the collapse of its upper jawsaq.

The collapse of several courses with the upper cornice of the facades of the courtyard of the Ayyubid mosque from the inside.

Collapse at the entrance to the Mamluk tower from the east (from the outside).

Part of the southern wall of the Ottoman barracks collapsed and part of the barracks roof collapsed.
