What does it mean that these people have been convicted of treason?

The decision represents the stripping of nationality and their citizen rights in perpetuity, an absolute and special disqualification from holding public office, holding public office, as well as holding positions of popular election, according to the judicial resolution published by official media.

The immobilization and confiscation in favor of the State of all real estate and companies that the sentenced have registered in their favor was also ordered.

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights rejected the judicial decision on Twitter: "The information we are receiving is alarming about the State's arbitrary decision to declare 94 people traitors to the homeland without even a trial, to strip them of their nationality and patrimony, and declare them fugitives from justice. We strongly condemn this new wave of #HR violations and call on the State to immediately cease the persecution and reprisals against human rights defenders and dissident voices, and restore them all their rights and liberties".
