This Friday, Fair Meat Prices launched by the Minister of Economy,
Sergio Massa,
begin to apply, due to the increase in the product that he had since the beginning of the year.
The official program includes
7 popular cuts
provided by the exporting refrigerators with discounts of 30% to 35%.
The cuts that will enter the official plan are the roast at $1,035, the buttock at $1,375, the matambre at $1,310, the vacuum at $1,350;
the skirt at $675, the shoulder at $1,113 and the roast cover at $1,035, the 7 cuts that are prohibited from exporting until December 31.
The agreed prices will be found in supermarkets grouped in the Association of United Supermarkets (ASU), the Argentine Chamber of Supermarkets (CAS) and the Argentine Federation of Supermarkets and Self-Services (FASA) and refrigerator butcher shops.
And the values
will remain frozen until March 31
.
Then, these cuts will have a limit increase of 3.2% per month until June 30, as established in the Fair Prices program that includes around 50,000 products.
From the Government they affirmed that the offer will be greater than what was the previous program that was in force until last September.
Now, instead of 6,000 tons,
15,000 tons will be available
(plus what Coto and La Anónima contribute, which are self-sufficient).
Today the Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP)
established the 10% refund regime for
final consumers who make purchases in butcher shops with a debit, prepaid or similar card associated with open accounts in financial or fintech entities.
The measure will take effect on March 1, until December 31 of this year, and includes a 90-day deferral in the payment of tax obligations to businesses involved in this activity.
The benefit implemented based on General Resolution 5,330 consists of a refund of 10% of the amount of the operation carried out in establishments dedicated to the commercialization of beef, with a refund
limit of up to $2,000 per month.
It will be valid for transactions through payment terminals as well as through QR codes.
Financial entities must credit the sum in the accounts of final consumers four days after the transaction is completed, and the detail must appear in the clients' physical or electronic account summary.
To do this, the body led by Carlos Castagneto created a new "Registry of butcher shops."
Businesses that have the category of Registered Manager or are monotributistas with up to three declared employees, will be incorporated automatically.
The rest of the taxpayers must register through the Registry System of the agency's website.
There they must select the option "Special Records", option "Characteristics and Special Records" and select the characterization "Retail Butchers - Reimbursement Regime".
At the same time and as part of the comprehensive program to promote the production and consumption of beef announced this week by the national government, the regulation grants businesses registered in the regime three months of grace for the payment of VAT or the tax component of the monotributo in the cases in which they are adhered to the simplified regime.

Increases in January
According to a report prepared by the Institute for the Promotion of Vaccine Meat (Ipcva), the average price of meat in different parts of the country
increased just 1.7 percent
in the first month of the year, and 41.8 percent between January 2022 and January 2023, well below general inflation.
In this scenario, there were cuts that increased more than others and areas where higher increases were seen.
For example, in Rosario there were average increases of 2.4 percent, in Córdoba of 2 percent and in Buenos Aires of 1.7 percent.
And within Buenos Aires, it was in the areas with the greatest purchasing power that the greatest increases were observed.
The city of Buenos Aires, with 3.2 percent, and the north of Greater Buenos Aires with 2.9 percent, were the areas with the greatest variations, while in the south of Greater Buenos Aires the average increase was only 0.5 percent, according to the Ipcva.
"The prices of beef had an increase of 3.9% in the points of sale that serve in neighborhoods of high socioeconomic level. In those that sell in the medium socioeconomic level, prices increased by 1.1%; while that in those who serve the low socioeconomic level, prices increased by 1.4%," the report describes.
Another interesting fact is that the increases during January were higher in supermarkets than in butcher shops.
The price of beef in butcher shops exhibited increases of 0.6% during January 2023, and 40.4% compared to the same month in 2022, while the average price of beef in supermarkets showed an increase of 4. 7% compared to the previous month and an increase of +45.5% compared to January 2022.
The Ipcva affirms that in the AMBA
what increased the most in January was the skirt
, with an inter-monthly variation of 4.6 percent, followed by the special picada, which increased 3.6 percent.
In this range of increases are also found chicken meat (4.4%) and pork breast (3.6%).
The price of the loin increased in January in the AMBA by 3.2 percent, the roast strip by 3 percent, the vacuum by 2.7 percent and the buttock by 2.3 percent.
For the February report, we can expect much more significant increases that are already being seen on the counters.
