“We see all these very dark and marked make-ups coming back, inspired by the Gothic register of Wednesday Addams with ultra-black eyes, a pale complexion and a dark mouth”, observes Fanny Maurer, make-up artist KVD Beauty.

“It is not a question of copying and pasting what was done twenty years ago, but of taking up these codes and updating them today.
It's a less 'destroy' and 'emo' genre than in the 2000s, the looks are more sharp, glamorous”, explains Sacha de Carteret, colorist for Wella Professionals.

The 4 “blusher dots”
The complexion:
“Prefer a liquid foundation, advises Fanny Maurer.
Apply it with a sponge, patting it on the face to create a “flawless” porcelain skin effect.
Avoid contouring, as the contrast of shadows can create a complexion that is too livid."
Eyes:
“Don't spread the black shadow too high on the eyelid because it can make it look smaller.
Draw a smoky eye stretched into a point on the sides.
To have the same piercing eyes as Wednesday, draw a line of beige pencil inside the eye.
Add a touch of light in the inner corner by depositing a small dot of shiny shadow.
It must be small but intense to widen the eye.
The mouth:
“Those who are reluctant to wear a dark color on their mouth can start with a dark red.
Those who assume will opt for a blue or black shade by applying a pencil of the same color before the lipstick.
Either way, always a matte finish.”
Braids:
“The hairstyle must be impeccably structured, insists Émilie Rondeau, training manager at GHD.
Start by drying the bangs by directing the blower from top to bottom.
To shape the lock and style it like a curtain, tilt the straightener slightly inwards by making a quarter turn with the device.
Apply a smoothing spray to the lengths, then pass the plates slowly, strand by strand, from root to tip, starting with those below.
Draw a vertical parting with a tail comb, from the top of the head to the middle of the nape of the neck.
Make two tight braids from the ear.
Finish with a black or transparent mini-elastic and a small veil of hairspray.
