What was achieved in 2022 and what was not?

What should happen in 2023?

Kranzberg's Mayor Hermann Hammerl answered the questions of the Freisinger Tagblatt.

Mr. Hammerl, what word would you use to describe the year 2022 as mayor?

The year 2022 was very varied and presented us with a variety of challenges - including the corona pandemic, the refugees from Ukraine, the energy crisis, inflation and rising interest rates.

What were the challenges in the past year?

As already mentioned, we were faced with a wide variety of challenges.

However, our congregation was also challenged with the canal construction measures in Obere Dorfstraße with the necessary detours, with the development of the future construction area "westliche Ringstraße" and with the future design of the church forecourt.

In this context, I would like to thank all of our community citizens for their understanding and consideration regarding the diversions.

In these times we have to stick together all the more.

How have the corona pandemic and the Ukraine war affected the work in the church and the projects?

With the corona pandemic, working from home became socially acceptable and fast internet was essential.

The municipal council meetings were held in the Pantaleonssaal for two years because of the necessary distances to be maintained.

Ukrainian refugees have also arrived in the municipality of Kranzberg, which has triggered the need for schooling.

The municipality set up a car service so that the Ukrainian children could be brought home from the Allershausen middle school.

The energy prices have led to a rethinking of heating - away from gas and towards needs-based heating - and in many other areas of industry and transport.

What goals have you achieved?

And which ones don't?

I am pleased that the new land use plan with landscape plan has been approved after seven years of planning, interpretation and participation by citizens and public bodies.

Our multi-generation house was ready for occupancy in May after five years of planning and construction.

All apartments are now rented.

The development of the "western ring road" construction area has started.

We did not manage the planned renovation of the combined sewer from Ampertshausen to Berg, as 17 companies were contacted in the tender, but unfortunately no offer was submitted.

It has become quiet in recent years around the Fischerwirt.

Is there something going on behind the scenes or is nothing happening at the moment?

And will something happen in 2023?

The Fischerwirt is privately owned.

I don't know if the owners are planning anything.

How was the mood in the municipal council in 2022?

We worked together very constructively in the municipal council and we came to many mutually agreeable solutions.

In the public meetings, 132 unanimous resolutions were passed in 144 votes.

In the 62 non-public votes, 48 voting results were unanimous.

What are your plans for 2023 as mayor?

What's on the agenda?

My goals would be: The "Westliche Ringstraße" development area is fully developed and the plots are ready for construction, the municipal plots are then allocated using a revised local model.

The renovation of Obere Dorfstraße with a canal, new water main, new roadway, new sidewalk and additional infrastructure is completed.

The sewer rehabilitation of the stretch from Ampertshausen to Berg is implemented, the utilization of the sewer network and the sewage treatment plant are recalculated.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

After 20 years of planning, the retention area for the mixed water discharge at the Thalhauser Graben with a volume of 630 cubic meters is being created.

And: The heating of the town hall, fire station and building yard will be renewed and converted to wood chips and pellets as fuel.

In addition: The planning of the church forecourt is specified by a competition.

And finally: A feasibility study was carried out to clarify the school location with a new sports hall, which we now want to build on.

The energy transition in the district should be accelerated.

What's up?

Provocatively asked: How many wind turbines can and should there be in your community?

With a protective space of 1000 meters around the inhabited buildings in and around the municipal area, only limited areas are left for wind turbines.

We are currently checking whether these areas affect flight operations from Munich Airport.

There are state elections in 2023 – always a good time to express wishes.

What wishes and demands do you have of the state government?

From 2026, the state will give parents a gradual legal right to all-day care for primary school children.

I would like more financial support for the municipalities in creating premises for all-day care.

Furthermore, it would be important for the job description of the educational staff to become more attractive so that more young people take up this profession.

With which word would you like to characterize the past year on December 31, 2023?

Done!

We will have successfully completed many projects again.
