Damascus, SANA- The efforts of the health sector have come together in all its aspects, since the first hours following the earthquake at dawn on the 6th.

The efforts of the health sector have been concerted in all its aspects since the first hours after the earthquake occurred at the dawn of the 6th of this month, as the emergency room in the Ministry of Health was activated to coordinate the response between its central directorates and health directorates in the governorates, which mobilized all their cadres directly in conjunction with sending medical convoys to supply the governorates. affected, particularly from ambulances, mobile clinics and medical supply trucks.

The health system expanded to manage human and material resources in a momentary manner to ensure an urgent response to the effects of the earthquake, as the number of personnel who were present in the affected areas since the first moments of the earthquake exceeded 600 health workers, and hospitals and centers in the affected areas worked to their maximum capacity and around the clock to provide medical services to the injured and wounded. And rescue survivors from under the rubble, where medical services were provided to more than 2,300 injured.

The General Authority for Forensic Medicine, according to its president, Dr. Zaher Hajjo, has worked since the beginning of the disaster to help those affected, as doctors went to forensic medical centers in the affected governorates to examine the injured to estimate the percentage of disability in some cases, in addition to discovering the bodies and handing them over to their families, and identifying unidentified bodies through a process "Cognition".

Hajjo indicated in a statement to SANA that all the bodies that have been recovered from under the rubble so far have been identified, with the exception of four bodies in Aleppo governorate.

The medical teams also met the needs of the people in the shelters by monitoring their health requirements around the clock, and the epidemiological investigation teams in the Directorate of Communicable and Chronic Diseases at the Ministry of Health were mobilized to work to ensure the stability of the health situation, and the non-proliferation of epidemics and diseases.

On the other hand, the medical teams of the Syrian Arab Army made great efforts, whether in rescue operations or in treating the injured who were transferred to military hospitals, and their work alongside the civil medical sector had a significant positive role in the rapid response to relief and treatment requirements.

The Directorate of Primary Health Care formed trained psychological support teams to provide psychological interventions to everyone who suffers from any disorder resulting from the disaster in the affected governorates. In the Ibn Khaldun Hospital for Psychiatric Diseases in Aleppo, phone numbers were allocated to communicate with the staff on duty around the clock to request counseling and psychological support, as the hospital followed Distributing the necessary medicines to all patients.

The efforts of governmental institutions were unified with the institutions of the private sector, trade unions, non-governmental organizations and the civil society, as all private health facilities were mobilized and directed immediately to open their doors and provide emergency services to all the injured, while the Syrian Arab Red Crescent made great efforts to support the health sector in the affected places. from the earthquake from the first moments, and made extensive efforts in coordination with brotherly and friendly countries directly to secure the receipt of many medical aids and medicines sent to Syria to face the repercussions of the earthquake.

More than 100 doctors from various specialties, especially neurology, orthopedics and emergency medicine, participated in the relief work through a voluntary medical team formed by the Syrian Doctors Syndicate, to provide health services to the injured and wounded as a result of the earthquake in hospitals and health centers in the affected governorates. The Syndicate also sent a shipment of relief aid that includes 3 thousand A food basket for the families affected by the earthquake, in addition to numerous individual initiatives for pharmacy owners and doctors who donated quantities of medicines and made their efforts to provide all possible medical assistance to those affected.
