The Government of Ecuador announced this Friday that President Guillermo Lasso suffered a fall that caused a fracture in his left fibula, for which he required "immediate surgery" at the Kennedy Clinic in Guayaquil.

The official bulletin added that their activities on the agenda and visits to the territory have been suspended.

Lasso said he is "in very good spirits" and hopes to resume his activities "as soon as possible," the statement added.

Collaborators of the president have come to said clinic to find out about his state of health and visit him.
