Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas stressed the need to oblige the Israeli occupation to stop all its colonial expansionist practices and unilateral measures that violate international legitimacy resolutions.

WAFA news agency reported that Abbas discussed, during a phone call today with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, the issue of the State of Palestine's approach to the Security Council as a result of the continuation of the colonial expansionist occupation practices, where he stressed the need to compel "Israel" to stop all its unilateral measures, including settlements, house demolitions, and storming of cities and villages. And the camps and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and all violations against the Palestinians.

Abbas called on the US administration to intervene quickly and effectively to put pressure on “Israel” to stop all these dangerous measures that violate the resolutions of international legitimacy.

For his part, Blinken stressed that the US administration will continue its efforts to work to stop the unilateral Israeli actions.

The UN Security Council will hold a session next Monday to vote on a draft resolution prepared by Palestine and the UAE, which stipulates condemnation of the occupation authorities’ decision to establish 9,409 new settlement units to expand settlements established in the West Bank, and calls on the occupation to stop settlement operations completely and immediately, and confirms that the establishment of settlements in the occupied territories is a year 1967 is illegal and constitutes a flagrant violation of international law. The project also condemns all annexation attempts by the occupation authorities.
