(ANSA) - PESCARA, FEBRUARY 18 - I'm in Rome to admire the wonders of the city and, when the platform of the bus that allows a disabled child to get off the bus breaks, my schoolmates decide to stay with him and give up the fuss in order not to leave him alone.

It is the story of the pupils of a fourth class of the comprehensive school of Trasacco (L'Aquila), a municipality in the Marsica area.

To tell it is ilCentro.it, which underlines how it is a "lesson in life and love".

The story concerns a group of 8- and 9-year-old children.

In the beginning everything went well and the class regularly visited the Van Gogh exhibition at Palazzo Bonaparte.

Once we got back on the bus to move to another area of the city and take a tour of the historic centre, however, problems began: the platform no longer worked and the disabled child would not be able to get off.

"All the chaperones - says the headmaster Piero Buzzelli - worked hard to fix it and to allow the child in the wheelchair to get off and visit the city together with his companions. Some time has passed and no one was able to solve the problem. It was proposed to the pupils of start walking to visit Rome, trying in the meantime to resolve the inconvenience. The children said that without their friend they would never have come down.

"They tried for some time to readjust the platform - he adds - but there was nothing to do. In the end they had to leave to go home. The behavior of the children was exemplary, a testimony to the true meaning of inclusion. We are all proud and moved", concludes the head teacher.
