In response to the call of humanitarian duty to provide relief to those affected by the earthquake, sports clubs in Aleppo continue to provide support to the afflicted within various initiatives aimed at providing the people with food and living supplies.

The initiatives of the clubs in Aleppo, through which they expressed the sporting spirit as a first step, will be followed by other steps with the aim of harnessing sport in the service of human causes.

(SANA) had a stand with a number of sports cadres who contributed to these initiatives, where the President of Al-Ittihad Club, Al-Ahly Aleppo, Rasin Martini, said in a statement to SANA: “In response to our duty in the Al-Ahly Club towards our society and our city, the mini-basket hall was transformed to collect relief aid and assist in providing needs.” The basic food, medicine, and what is needed for our people in the shelter centers, referring at the same time to the initiatives of many clubs that responded to the call for help, such as the Al-Wahda Club, Al-Karamah Club, Al-Wathba Club, and Al-Nawa’ir Club, and the initiative of a number of associations and individuals from the city’s residents to prove the extent of solidarity under these exceptional circumstances.

The President of the Freedom Club, Ahmed Kaddour, explained that the disaster showed the depth of Syrian originality, pointing out that the club opened two centers to shelter those affected by the earthquake, and we embraced 200 families, and we provided their supplies, which were presented as initiatives from the Red Crescent and the Aleppo Tourism Chamber, in addition to the Al-Wathba Sports Club, and this is our national duty first And the athlete second.

The President of Al-Jalaa Club, Dr. Antoine Attah, indicated that all athletes in all of Syria came to the aid of their brothers in this ordeal, and this is clear evidence that the depths of the Syrian person are full of enormous buried energies of spiritual, intellectual and human creativity.

Atta drew attention to the great effort and continuous work to help the earthquake-affected people of the club, in cooperation with the athletes and fans of Al-Karamah and Al-Wahda clubs, who volunteered to receive and distribute subsidies to those who deserve them in shelters.

The participation of Al-Safira Club came as an initiative added to this humanitarian work, as the club's president, Asaad Ramadan, said: The club's participation with sports clubs in helping those affected is a patriotic duty, expressing his hope that Syria will recover and rise in the spirit of all its people.

A number of athletes in Aleppo participating in the provision of aid, namely Anas Sari, Mahmoud Al-Wisi, Nadim Issa, Othman Qiblawi and Abdullah Basalhlo, confirmed that this humanitarian work is a token of love for sore hearts and to help our people get out of this ordeal.
