Latakia - SANA
An aid convoy from the people of rural Damascus arrived in Lattakia today, loaded with relief materials, food and infant formula, to help those affected by the earthquake.
In a statement to SANA reporter, the Deputy Governor of Rif Dimashq, Jassem Al-Mahmoud, stated that the aid that was collected is an initiative of civil and individual activities from several areas in Rif Dimashq Governorate to provide assistance and aid to the people affected by the earthquake in Lattakia, indicating that the convoy consisted of 12 buses loaded with foodstuffs and infant formula. Sheets and detergents, and this initiative is the seventh that was sent from the governorate of Rif Dimashq to the governorates affected by the earthquake, and more will be sent in the coming days, in addition to the individual initiatives that are transferred daily to the affected areas.
Khaldoun Al-Koura from the Al-Birr and Al-Ihsan Association in Damascus countryside indicated that the association had purchased and collected a number of medicines for chronic diseases, clothing and relief supplies, and sent them to the afflicted people in the governorate, with the aim of standing with them in this disaster that befell them.
In turn, Ahmed Felyon of the Diamond Volunteer Relief Team, which is made up of university students, confirmed that their national and humanitarian duty prompted them to help and stand by the affected people in Lattakia, so they bought some foodstuffs and supplies at their personal expense, and transported them to Lattakia.
