The death toll from the devastating earthquake that struck southern Turkey on February 6 has risen to more than 40,000.
And the Anadolu Agency quoted the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) as saying in a statement today: that the number of earthquake victims has so far reached 40,642 people, in an indefinite toll.
A previous toll today indicated that the number of victims rose to 39,672 people, while the number of people injured as a result of the earthquake reached 108,068 people, and 216,347 people were evacuated from the affected areas.
