This morning, a Yemeni aid convoy consisting of six trucks departed from the front of the Yemeni embassy in Damascus to Lattakia Governorate, loaded with relief, food and medical materials for those affected by the earthquake.
In a statement to SANA reporter, Abdullah Sabri, the Yemeni ambassador to Damascus, said: The convoy is the first and will not be the last. It includes foodstuffs, winter clothes, medicines, medical supplies, blankets and mobile beds, provided by members of the Yemeni community and Yemeni donors, as an expression of their solidarity and support for the Syrian people.
Ambassador Sabri affirmed that the Yemeni community and all honorable Yemenis, despite the blockade on Yemen and the many obstacles they faced, refused to be with Syria in this ordeal.
For his part, the head of the Council of the Yemeni Community in Syria, Muhammad Naji al-Awlaki, explained that the community is also working on arranging a second convoy that is scheduled to set off for Aleppo governorate in the coming days, and he said: “We share with our brothers in Syria this great calamity, and what we are doing is a simple thing, but With much love and solidarity with the Syrian people.
