A man was shot dead on the night of Friday to Saturday February 18 in Marseille, in what would be the third deadly settling of scores in four days in the city, against a backdrop of drug trafficking.
The 28-year-old man was targeted shortly after 1 a.m. in the Capelette district, in the south of the city, near the Sports Palace.
He was treated by firefighters and died in hospital from his injuries.
The judicial police have been seized of the investigation.

Fifth death of the year
According to an AFP count, this is the fifth death by settling scores since the beginning of the year, and the third in four days.
Thursday, a 20-year-old young man, known to the police in particular for narcotics cases, was shot dead in Micocouliers, a city in the working-class neighborhoods north of Marseille.
On the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, a 17-year-old minor, also known for drug trafficking, died of his injuries after being found unconscious with stab wounds at La Paternelle, another of these housing estates in the northern districts of the second largest city in France plagued by drug trafficking.
