At 9:14 a.m. today (18th), a three-vehicle collision occurred on the Sha Tin section of the Tai Po Highway towards Tai Po, near Sha Tin Racecourse, including a motorcycle, a truck and a truck of SF Express.
One of the truck drivers was trapped for a while and then climbed out on his own; the motorcyclist suffered bruises on his hands and feet, while the other truck driver reported chest pains. All of them were conscious and sent to hospital by ambulance.
According to the Transport Department, due to traffic accidents, some lanes of the Tai Po Highway – Sha Tin section (towards Tai Po) near Sha Tin Racecourse are still closed.
Motorists may only use the remaining lanes for driving.
Currently the site is congested with traffic.
