Prime Minister, Eng. Hussein Arnous, met today a Lebanese parliamentary delegation headed by Ali Hassan Khalil, Chairman of the Lebanese-Syrian Parliamentary Committee for Brotherhood and Friendship.

Khalil Basem, Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, and members of Parliament offered condolences to the victims of the recent earthquake in several Syrian governorates, expressing the solidarity and standing of the Lebanese people with Syria and the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.

The head of the Lebanese-Syrian Parliamentary Brotherhood and Friendship Committee said: “We express our support for sister Syria with the capabilities available in Lebanon. And wheat.”

For his part, Eng. Arnous stressed the importance of the fraternal relations that bind the two countries and peoples, and expressed his thanks to the brothers in Lebanon for standing by Syria in this disaster, pointing out that the work of state institutions, the local community, unions and civil associations side by side, in addition to the support of brothers and friends, had a role. Important in reducing the repercussions of the earthquake and contributed to saving the lives of many trapped under the rubble, recovering the victims, removing the rubble, and providing relief assistance to those affected.

Engineer Arnous explained that government institutions are currently working on accurately counting the damages in the affected areas, and the preparation of prefabricated housing units has begun in the context of following up on the options offered in terms of providing temporary housing for those affected.
