A meeting that included the Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Dr. Amr Salem, assistant ministers of internal trade, economy, agriculture, industry and health, assistant governor of the Central Bank of Syria, heads of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture and representatives of importers of basic materials discussed the arrangement of import priorities for the basic needs of materials and goods and the identification of materials to be given priority in operations financing.

Minister Salem stressed that setting priorities during this period is very important in terms of securing materials, their flow in the markets and moderating their prices, especially in light of the earthquake disaster that befell some governorates and with the approach of the holy month of Ramadan.

Salem emphasized reducing the costs of products by importing them as raw materials and manufacturing them in Syrian factories, such as soy seeds, which leads to revitalizing the production process and operating the suspended factories.

Salem heard from the participants in the meeting the need of each ministry and sector of the basic materials that they need for the necessity of revitalizing the movement of the industrial, commercial and agricultural sectors alike.
