"Impossible situation":
Disruptions in bus traffic in Jerusalem and Yosh occurred today (Sunday) following the sanctions of the Arab drivers. The sanctions were taken due to calls by the leaders of the Arab public in East Jerusalem for a general strike due to the demolition of illegal buildings during the past week.
In a message delivered to the residents of Samaria, it was stated that the Egged company announced this morning that "as a result of a strike, many drivers did not come to work and disruptions and non-performance of public transportation lines are expected."
Gush Etzion, Binyamin and Kiryat Arba also report similar problems.
Many transport lines have been canceled since the morning hours.
The Egged company stated: "In view of the recent events that have befallen East Jerusalem,
this morning dozens of bus drivers who live in the eastern neighborhoods of Jerusalem,
a significant number of whom work in the Jerusalem metropolitan area as well as in Gush Dan, were absent this morning.
The events created disruptions in the availability of buses in Jerusalem and the cities of Gush Dan, including Holon, Bat Yam, Rasheltz, Rehovot, and more... This impossible situation further disrupts the level of transportation availability of all bus companies which are also based on East Jerusalem drivers ".
