Avian flu: confirm new cases in family-reared birds in Salta and Córdoba

The National Agrifood Health and Quality Service (Senasa) confirmed

new cases of avian influenza

(AI) H5 in the Cordoba town of Alejo Ledesma and on the way to La Isla, in the Salta department of Cerrillos.

In the Córdoba town, the detection was in

These cases are added to another case of avian influenza (AI) H5 detected in two wild ducks found dead in the Las Mojarras lagoon, in the Cordovan department of General San Martín.

The new cases reported by Senasa were confirmed in the last hours of Saturday.

From Senasa they urged the productive sector to

reinforce the management, hygiene and biosecurity measures

of their poultry farms.

They also requested that any possible detection of nervous, digestive or respiratory clinical signs, decrease in egg production, water or food consumption and high mortality in domestic or wild birds
