Be My Friend... An artistic and literary initiative to help those affected by the earthquake in Syria by donating paintings by plastic artists and the literary productions of some writers, so that the proceeds will go to the benefit of those affected.

More than 60 plastic and literary artists are participating in the initiative, which was launched by the cultural bottom line in Lattakia last Thursday, who donated their artistic and literary works, so that the proceeds of all of them would be returned to the governorates affected by the earthquake.

Activist in plastic art and one of those in charge of the initiative, Abdullah Shaheen, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that this initiative was motivated by a sense of responsibility and the great impact of artists and writers on the reality left by the earthquake and providing any possible assistance, pointing out that the artist can only present his work and the writer only his achievement. Literary to help the affected.

For her part, Rima Nazih, from the party in charge of the initiative, said that it aims to provide an opportunity to highlight the role of artists and writers, like other groups of society, in standing up and supporting those affected by this disaster.

The plastic artist Nazir Tanzekli, who participated in the workshop, saw that the purpose of the initiative is to raise morale and avoid any negative situation that the disaster may leave behind.

The participation of the poet and photographer Muhannad Hatem came by presenting a group of his poetic works, in addition to five paintings that form a photographic path symbolizing what we have gone through during the past 12 years, which he concludes with a painting symbolizing hope and determination to live.

Plastic artist Muhammad Asaad saw that the humanitarian initiative that the plastic artist cannot but stand with strongly, as the artist tries to convey his feelings through the painting, which is not just a decoration on a wall, but rather a push for the development and advancement of society.
