A body was found in a river in north-west England on Sunday in the investigation into the mysterious disappearance of a 45-year-old woman, a case that is captivating in the UK.
Nicola Bulley, 45, was last seen near the River Wyre on January 27, shortly after dropping off her two daughters, aged 6 and 9, at school.
Her phone was found on a bench in a park, still connected to a conference call and her dog was off the leash.
Local police have seen a barrage of criticism rain down on her over their handling of the case, particularly after it was revealed that she suffered from menopause-related alcohol problems.
The disappearance area has seen an influx of media and amateur detectives.
Lancashire Police announced on Sunday that a further search of the river " unfortunately
" resulted
in the discovery of a body.

Procedures to identify the body are ongoing
," police said in a statement, adding that the cause of death has not been determined.
"
Nicola's family has been informed of these developments and our thoughts are with them at this most difficult time
," she added.
