In court, the suspect's detention was extended this morning by five more days.

Even after the indictment, the prosecutor's office will request that he be kept in custody until the end of the proceedings against him.

Abu Essa currently denies all the suspicions attributed to him, but police officials claim that there is strong evidence against him.

The suspect broke into the apartment in the fence during the night, when he climbed through the balcony and went inside, where he physically attacked the mother of the family, tied her up and brutally raped her.

"I was afraid he would kill my children"

A. was interviewed for the first time this weekend by the news edition of Channel 12, and told about the moments of horror.

"I bit him, dragged couches and tried to confront him until I got to the point where he told me: 'If you don't keep quiet, I will kill you.' My fear was that he would kill my children and me - so I surrendered."

A's relatives spoke in an interview to "Israel Today" about the days after the attack: "A struggles to keep her sanity, she leaves the house only for treatments or meetings with the police and social workers.

He was arrested a day and a half after the incident and is currently being held in custody.
