Two brothers aged 12 and 14 saved the life of a newborn.
The latter had been abandoned in a ditch in Montgiscard, near Toulouse, by a 17-year-old girl who had denied pregnancy, reports

While waiting for their mother at a bus stop on Friday, February 17, the two brothers heard small cries.
Before discovering a newborn, in the ditch, covered with leaves, "
full of blood and surrounded by its umbilical cord
".

The two teenagers immediately informed their mother, a former emergency nurse, who alerted the emergency services and tried to warm the newborn in her vehicle.
Born only a few minutes ago, the child would be in good health despite hypothermia.
Quickly, the gendarmes went back to a young woman, not yet of age, residing in a house located nearby.
She admitted to denying pregnancy and giving birth in her bathroom.
Panicked, she would then have left the newborn in this ditch on the side of the road.
An investigation has been opened by the Toulouse prosecutor's office for "
neglect of a minor
", according to
