Homs-Sana

Today, the governorate of Homs honored the readiness teams in the directorates of civil defense and health, for their contribution to the rapid response to our people affected by the earthquake in the governorates of Aleppo and Lattakia, in addition to a number of workers in government agencies.

During his meeting with the teams, the Governor of Homs, Eng. Namir Makhlouf, pointed out the efforts they made through rapid and direct intervention after the earthquake occurred to provide assistance and support, by sending rescue teams and medical and emergency cadres, considering that what they provided to their families and brothers in the governorates of Aleppo and Lattakia is a humanitarian and patriotic duty, and within the core of the work of the teams. Civil Defense and Health are always the first to provide a helping hand and assistance to our people in all governorates.

For his part, the Director of Civil Defense in Homs, Brigadier General Ghiath Aqel, said: “Since the earthquake occurred, we hastened to send the necessary vehicles and equipment to the stricken governorates of Aleppo, Latakia and Hama, where our teams carried out rescue, evacuation and ambulance work as well.”

Haitham Tlass, commander of a rescue group in the Civil Defense, stated that what the rescue teams did was their duty and the least support they could provide to our people affected by the earthquake, stressing the full and complete readiness of the Civil Defense with the equipment available to us to provide the necessary assistance.

Paramedic Ismail Shaddoud of the Rapid Ambulance System described the response as quick, despite the fact that the disaster was an unexpected event.
