María Eugenia Vidal
referred again this Sunday to her possible candidacy as president in the face of the 2023 elections and revealed who is the only person with whom she would
not compete
in an intern of Together for Change.
"With Mauricio (Macri), no
," she assured.
It was in dialogue with FM Millenium that the Buenos Aires deputy and former governor stressed her intention to be a candidate and indicated that she is willing to face any other space leader to earn her place on the lists.
"They ask me if I would like to be President.
Yes, I would like to be President
. And Together for Change has very good leaders who can be presidents. Competition does not scare me as long as it is healthy," she began by saying in the radio interview.
Then he referred to the main leaders of the coalition that are shaping up to run in the next elections.
"If I launched the candidacy (I would compete) with Horacio or Patricia," he said of the Buenos Aires head of government Rodríguez Larreta and the former Security Minister Bullrich.
But it made a difference with the former president: "Not with Mauricio because I feel that Mauricio was the one who started it all. 20 years ago we formed the PRO and he gave us all the space to grow, Horacio, Patricia and me. So I feel that
he has leadership above others
.”
In this sense, he continued: “
I would not integrate a formula with Mauricio
.
The truth is that my vocation is in the next step, what I want to contribute to Argentina is that I would like to be President and if not I will accompany whoever is".
However, and despite his projections for the coming months, Vidal stressed that it is still early to talk about names and closing the list.
"I think that the Argentines are overwhelmed by this debate on candidacies. And that does not mean that I am not going to be a candidate, that I am not interested in contesting this election, but on June 30 the lists close and today I feel that this work that I am doing It's what I have to do," he said.
Vidal, hard against the Government: "Three years ago they only discussed their spaces of power"
The Juntos por el Cambio deputy also gave her harsh opinion about the official internal party, pointing out that the government
"cares more about Cristina than society
. "
"It has been shown that they care more about Cristina than society when for three years they have not been able to function as a government coalition or have an economic program or do anything that improves the lives of Argentines, except to discuss their spaces of power," he harshly criticized.
Along these lines, he referred to the current situation that Cristina Kirchner is going through after being convicted of corruption.
"
It is false that Cristina is banned
. If she was really banned, it would not depend on her will to be a candidate," he said.
Finally, he concluded about the last meeting of the Frente de Todos: "They were there until 1:30 in the morning to see if a document says that Cristina is proscribed or not and if they enable or not the internal competition that is by law."
