The United States and South Korea announced this morning (Sunday) that they will hold joint air strikes that will include the use of strategic bombers, in response to an intercontinental ballistic missile test carried out by North Korea overnight.
The joint announcement by Seoul and Washington was published by South Korea's state news agency, Yonhap, and it claims that the exercise will take place today.
This is a quick response to North Korea's firing that took place during the night.

Japan also announced that Japanese Air Force planes would participate in the air exercise, after the missile fired by Pyongyang landed in Japan's economic waters.
The Japanese fighter jets will be accompanied by American bombers and the exercise will take place on the border of Japan's airspace.
North Korea announced during the night that it had tested a "Hawasong-18" ballistic missile.
According to Pyongyang, the missile was launched at a distance of almost a thousand kilometers and landed in the middle of the sea.
"The launch proves our ability to launch a deadly nuclear counterattack against hostile forces. This is a clear proof of the safe and reliable capabilities of our nuclear deterrent," the state news agency in Pyongyang said in a statement.
