The Buenos Aires City Police arrested a gang of thieves this weekend
who posed as Uber drivers
to rob tourists arriving at the Aeroparque.
The operation consisted of three raids, where
two criminals
of Venezuelan nationality were arrested who posed as drivers of the rental travel application to steal passenger belongings.
The complaint originated from an unusual detail.

At the time the trip was assigned, the driver (owner of a white Clio)
sent questions to the applicant through the platform
about how many people requested the service, their ages, and if they had luggage.
In addition, the driver indicated that the trunk did not work, so the suitcases would have to be placed on the same side, next to the window.
That attitude caught the attention of customers
.
It seemed strange to them.
That is why one of them took off a high-end watch that he was wearing to hide it among his clothes.
A few minutes later, when the car was already reaching its destination, the trout Uber was intercepted by two vehicles that forced it to stop.
They forced all its occupants to get out of the car to go to the place where the suitcases were.
By rebuking the victims,
they asked them to hand over "the watch"
and other valuables.
They were marked.
Consequently, a case was initiated for "
aggravated robbery by the use of weapons
" with the intervention of the National Court of Requests, in charge of Dr. Gabriel Ghirlanda and before the Sole Secretariat of Dr. Gabriel Bustos, in the framework of a warrant issued by the Guarantee Court Number 2 of the Tigre Judicial Department of Dr. Orlando Díaz.
Personnel from the Robbery and Theft Division were part, together with members of the Tigre DDI, of three raids to find the gang.
The first procedure was carried out at 2600 Rivadavia Avenue, in a place for the purchase, sale and repair of cell phones.
There, the owner was identified, but
no items of interest were found.
Then, the troops arrived at Urquiza at 200 and entered together with DOEM personnel and managed to
arrest one of the accused criminals
, a 26-year-old Venezuelan national, in addition to kidnapping seven cell phones and a Renault Logan used to commit the crime. heist.
The other destination was in Valentín Gómez at 3000 and another of the suspects
(the driver who was carrying the victims),
also a 35-year-old Venezuelan, was observed leaving the building, achieving his arrest.
The officers seized two cell phones.
Upon consulting with the comptroller magistrate, it was decided to endorse the police action and hand over the detainees to the DDI of Tigre.
