The singer of La Mosca spoke about the alleged plagiarism of Tini Stoessel: "We'll get together to chat"

2023-02-19T19:30:54.010Z

When it seemed that accusations of plagiarism were coming for his recent release, Guillermo Novellis downplays the matter.

Tini Stoessel recently released

Cupido

, her fourth studio album consisting of 14 songs and which is described as "a musical journey that transports listeners to live stories of love and heartbreak."

The album debuted a few days ago and today it's in the news, not precisely because of how the public or critics evaluated the pop singer's new work, but because they immediately noticed that a particular song sounds similar to something already done.

It's about

Cupid

, the song that gives the album its name and for which Tini is being accused of plagiarism.

According to many Twitter and Instagram users, the song is similar to the hit

Yo te quiero dar

, by La Mosca.

Tini has just launched "Cupido".

At the moment, the accusation is only a question of networks.

But with the viralization of a video that compares both songs, the matter continued to escalate.

And it caused Guillermo Novelli, singer and leader of the popular group, to come out to give statements about it.

“She is an impressive artist.

There are times when things stick with you, but she is a very dear colleague.

In short, we all stole from The Beatles", ironized Novellis in the

Crónica Anunciada

radio cycle broadcast by Futurock.

It should be remembered that La Mosca has just had a dream end of the year thanks to the World Cup hit

Muchachos

, written by Fernando Romero but performed by the band that broke records and led the listeners on Spotify and YouTube.

In that same interview, Novellis explained that the band he is part of works like a cooperative.

And that he, then, he is not the only author of I want to give you, the first great success of La Mosca Tsé Tsé, released in 1999 on his second album Víspersa de carnaval.

"It's a song that we all sign, at least the music," said the singer, implying that if he had to file a claim for plagiarism, he would have to consult his groupmates first.

"We'll meet to talk with the manager but everything is fine, we'll see what happens. She has a touch. She's an adorable girl," said Novellis, who seemed willing to talk to Rodrigo de Paul's girlfriend before initiating any legal action against the artist, at least until now.

Cupid

's similarities

with

I want to give you

and the subsequent accusations of plagiarism exploded on the networks and motivated a Twitter user to share a thread with a history of plagiarism that does not leave Tini well off.

The thread shows clips from various video clips that reveal an uncanny resemblance to clips from videos that have already been made by other international pop artists, including Ariana Grande, Beyoncé, Demi Lovato, Cardi B and Shakira.

The controversial fragments of Cupid

Tini premiered Cupido

on Friday

, an album after

Tini Tini Tini

where she blends rhythms from the urban, pop, cumbia and electronic genres, all written by Stoessel herself along with her team of composers.

"Cupido" is the first release after "Tini Tini Tini".

The questions about the song

Cupid

did not come from the lyrics of the song.

What outraged several Internet users, who quickly let Tini know, was her video clip and a fragment of the theme's melody.

Among the songs already released from the album are Muñecas with La Joaqui and Steve Aoki;

Lie to me with María Becerra;

Meat and bone;

La Loto with Anitta and Becky G;

Bar with L-Ghent;

The Last Kiss with Tiago PZK;

Fantasi with Beele;

Damn Photo with Manuel Turizo;

and the hit The Triple T.

“Here is Cupid, this album that meant so much to me from the first song I shared with you, Lie to Me.

A stage of much growth and personal discovery.

Thank you for accompanying me the way you do.

This stage will remain engraved forever in my heart, ”wrote the singer on her networks.
