On the Iranian nuclear issue, he said: "All oppositions are on the table." Later, Netanyahu is also expected to speak at the conference

The United States Ambassador to Israel, Tom Neides, once again called to slow down the legislation of the legal revolution and to achieve a broad consensus on the issue.

According to him, "Our commitment to democracy is what allows us to defend Israel time and time again at the UN - I called to put the foot on the brake a little, not to brake - to slow down.

Changes are what democracies do, and that's what makes them so healthy." Later on, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is also expected to speak at the Presidents' Conference in Jerusalem. Neides also addressed the

Iranian issue, saying that there is daily cooperation between Israel and the United States on the issue. "First and foremost, there is To prevent the regime in Tehran from getting nuclear weapons, again - all options are on the table, but there is no chance that we will return to negotiations with them today," Neides said. "The fight against Iran and nuclear weapons is not only for Israel, it is for the entire Middle East and America.

We are very focused on that."

Do you need to hit the brakes?

Last night Neidas called on Netanyahu to "press the brakes" regarding the advancement of the legal revolution legislation.

"We tell the prime minister, as I tell my children - put on the brakes. Slow down. Try to get a consensus. It's a very complex issue and they're trying to advance it too quickly," Neides said in an interview on the podcast of the former adviser to the President of the United States David Axelrod.

The ambassador said that the United States will not dictate to Israel how to choose judges for the Supreme Court, but emphasized that the democratic institutions are what connects the two countries.

"This is how we defend Israel at the UN and this is how we stand by our shared values," he added.

"It's a very complex issue and they're trying to promote it too quickly."

The revolution planned by the government includes a series of significant changes in the legal system, such as a determination that only an expanded composition of the High Court can invalidate legislation passed by the Knesset. Another step of the revolution, designed to strengthen the government's hand vis-à-vis the court, is the establishment of a superseding clause that will nullify decisions of the High Court by a majority of only 61 members of the Knesset, as well as changing the composition of the committee for the selection of judges so that it is fully controlled by the coalition.

The reform also deals with weakening the power of the legal advisers to the government, so that their position will not bind the government, and with the elimination of the reason for reasonableness, which, among other things, significantly limits the court's ability to intervene in the appointment of senior officials.
