In the video: Bar Siman Tov returned to the position of Director General of the Ministry of Health (Marakts and voila!)
The Ministry of Health is promoting the lowering of the admission requirements for speech therapists and occupational therapists, without consultation with the professionals - this is what Lavala learned today (Sunday).
The coalition intends to lower the admission requirements for these professions to certificate studies only, without the need for an academic degree - a step that provoked protest from the professionals.
Now, the Ministry of Health has established a special headquarters, which will examine the ways to open additional training courses.
The combined headquarters of the Israeli Society for Occupational Therapy and the Israeli Association of Communication Clinicians are angry at the Ministry of Health, which did not invite representatives from them to discussions on the issue and even segregated them from them.
The headquarters sent two letters to the Director General of the Ministry of Health Moshe Bar Siman Tov, but he chose to ignore them.

In a letter to the CEO, the chiefs of staff expressed great concern for harming public peace. "The issue facing the Ministry of Health is a professional issue that concerns the core of the practice of the health professions established by law," they wrote to Bar Siman Tov and emphasized, "the professional associations are opposed to the proposed changes that drop the rationale under the legislation of the law , stand in opposition to it, and above all raise a real concern for damage to public health."
The change in admission conditions for these professions was decided as part of the coalition agreements between the representatives of the ultra-Orthodox parties and the Likud party, with the aim of allowing ultra-Orthodox and ultra-Orthodox to specialize in these fields, without having to study for a degree at an academic institution, but only for certificate studies. The meaning of such a decision could create a gap in the abilities and level of knowledge between the therapists, and thus in the level of treatment.
The Ministry of Health stated: "The Ministry of Health attaches the utmost importance to maintaining a high professional level of all those involved in the health professions, when before its eyes is the well-being and safety of the patients. The professionals in the Ministry of Health hold in-depth discussions on the subject, in order to continue to ensure a high professional level of caregivers in the health professions. The ministry recognizes the importance of opening additional training courses that will allow a variety of populations to integrate into the labor market while ensuring a high professional level. As a general rule, the ministry does not conduct professional discussions according to the media's schedule."
