El Al announced today (Monday) that it appointed Assaf Granit to be the company's head chef.
Granit, the successful chef and restaurateur with a Michelin star, will lead the entire culinary field in the company and will be responsible, among other things, for building new menus for all the different departments.
The CEO of El Al, Dina Ben-Tal Gennasia, revealed the identity of the chef as part of the launch event of El Al's new branding held this morning at Reading 3 in Tel Aviv Port.
The 44-year-old Granit has been working in the local and international culinary scene for over 15 years.
He owns more than 30 award-winning projects and restaurants around the world, starting with the famous "Mechanioda" restaurant in Jerusalem, which he founded at the beginning of his career, and ending with his "Shavor" restaurant in Paris winning a Michelin star about a year ago.
"It's a great honor for me," Granit said and added: "My head is filled with ideas, how to turn El Al's fleet of planes into flying restaurants.
Together with my team, I will try to continue the culinary work and lead the field in Israel.
