A 6.3 magnitude earthquake struck the border area between Turkey and Syria where an earthquake two weeks ago killed 40,000 people and destroyed thousands of buildings.
The epicenter of the new tremor was recorded near the Turkish city of Uzunbağ, near Syria and the Mediterranean Sea, according to the US Geological Survey.
The Reuters news agency indicated that the tremor caused panic among the population and damaged buildings in the nearby city of Ankara, and was also felt in Egypt and Lebanon, although there are still no official reports of damage or possible victims.
