The testimony of the head of the investigation team in cases 1000 and 2000, Assistant Superintendent Momi Meshulam, opened today (Monday).

Meshulam described as mentioned that the initial information about case 1000 - receiving favors from Aaron Milchan - was received from the journalist Ben Caspit and parts were even supported by the State Comptroller's report.

The information then concerned "gifts, champagne, that the Netanyahu couple received from Milchan and other issues."

Meshulam said that after a meeting with the Ombudsman Mandelblit, approval was given and the investigation was opened mainly on the issues of Odalia Carmon's employment, donations and financing of flights. Meshulam described the testimony of Hadas Klein, the assistant of the businessmen Arnon Milchan and James Packer, as the most significant for the continuation of the investigation .

They came to Klein when they investigated the circumstances of Yair Netanyahu's stay at Packer's apartment at the Royal Beach Hotel in Tel Aviv.

"In September 2016, we arrive at the Royal Beach Hotel, there, several investigations investigate the employees, who tell us that Klein would have coordinated Yair's arrival."

According to Meshulam, at this stage permission was also received to investigate Ari Haro on suspicion of "double financing of flights, financing of prohibited donations to the elections that he knows about" that's how Meshulam defined it.

In his first investigation, according to Meshulam, he exposed them to the gifts that Netanyahu receives from Milchan "He told us that he was exposed to the subject of champagne and cigars, that he heard that Milchan was coming to Netanyahu with cigars."

Meshulam described the negotiation for the state witness agreement as not easy and that Haro was in no hurry to cooperate "As someone who has experience with state witnesses and has signed 21 state agreements, you know the dynamics of those who wish to provide incriminating information in exchange for a favor.

"We had to milk Ari Haro," described it from Shulam. Judge Moshe Baram asked about the extent of the involvement of the then-ombudsman Mandelblit in the investigation and he replied that "there was a meeting once a week or two. He went to high resolutions both in the strategy of the investigation and in the timing. To his credit that he controlled every detail of the investigation."

Klein and Hero's testimony and brought the team to question Milchan.

Initially as a witness in open testimony and then in an investigation with a warning as a suspect.

Milchan's interrogation took place inside the Israeli embassy in London and, unusually, Milchan's lawyer at the time, attorney Baez Ben Zur, now Netanyahu's lawyer, was present. Meshulam said that "Milchan was questioned under a warning about giving favors and was asked about his interests His finances." And further that "he defined the relationship with Netanyahu between friendship and friendship and said that Netanyahu had no real friends, told about demands for the supply of champagne and cigars in large quantities over the years."

After Milchan's testimony, permission was given to interrogate Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Like Milchan, his defense attorney at the time, the late Yaakov Weinroth, was also present at Netanyahu's investigation. "The prime minister took breaks to consult with him during the investigation, we allowed it."

Meshulam described Netanyahu's investigation that "in the first investigation the Prime Minister did confirm the issue of the champagne and cigars, in the second investigation he gave a different version."
