Valluhn – Two days after a serious traffic accident in Valluhn in West Mecklenburg, investigators and experts are still looking for the exact cause of the accident.

The two survivors, the 31-year-old driver of the van and a 54-year-old passenger, will soon be questioned, a police spokesman said on Monday.

The van had an accident on Saturday around noon with five occupants on a narrow road.

The driver is being investigated on suspicion of negligent homicide.

Meanwhile, details of the course of the accident have become known.

The driver initially left the road with the vehicle and probably crashed into a tree on the right side of the road at higher speed, as the spokesman said.

The van then overturned several times and ended up on its roof.

The five occupants were a woman from Ukraine and four men from Slovakia and Poland who worked in the region and were traveling privately.

Despite rapid resuscitation measures, two 38 and 44-year-old men from Slovakia and the 37-year-old woman from Ukraine died at the scene of the accident.

The Slovakian driver and a 54-year-old Pole who is said to have been sitting behind the driver were taken to a clinic with minor injuries.

An alcohol and drug test of the driver did not show any evidence of influence.

Valluhn is on Autobahn 24 and has several large companies with foreign employees.

The public prosecutor commissioned an expert from Dekra to investigate the accident.

The further course of the investigation depends on his assessment.

The survivors should be heard.

The vehicle was destroyed.
