After the meeting of the Frente de Todos political table in which they tried to bring together internal positions regarding the candidacies, the Minister of Security, Aníbal Fernández, and the Chief of Staff, Agustín Rossi, showed their differences regarding the judicial
situation of Vice President Cristina Kirchner.
This Monday, Rossi remarked that Cristina Kirchner
"is clearly banned"
by the Justice to appear in the elections next year.
He said it after Aníbal Fernández stated in statements to Clarín that the vice president "is not proscribed."
However, Rossi countered this Monday that the former president "has a sentence in the first instance that disqualifies her from public office."
"If she had kept the expectation of being a candidate open,
the procedural deadlines that remain for that sentence to become final would have accelerated
and in our space what happened in the Brazilian Workers' Party would end up happening," she said.
Rossi is referring to the arrest of Lula da Silva, which prevented him from being a candidate in the 2018 election and forced the PT to improvise a candidate in a hurry, which he would later lose to Jair Bolsonaro.
"Cristina analyzes this and, de facto, the sentence
in the first instance ends up being implicitly prescriptive
," added Rossi.
Despite the discrepancy with Aníbal Fernández, the former Defense Minister pointed out: "I am the chief cabinet of a government, not Anibal's political chief. He is a weighty leader, who does not have political leaders and can have whatever political opinions he wants." .
He also
said that he would accompany Alberto Fernández
if the President decides to present himself and that he does not look badly that other actors want to participate in the inmate.
"If the President decides to compete, I will accompany him. No one confirmed to me that he wants to be a candidate, they are all known, and they are linked to the management, that indicates that the management was not so bad. If there are ministers who want to be candidates, what
about Why can't they be?
" he launched.
Alberto's statements
"Those who say that Cristina is outlawed while not
wanting to outlaw the President, it's crazy
," insisted the Minister of Security this Monday in dialogue with Radio 10.
"The grievances of a Peronist or Kirchnerist group against the President are not useful, nor are they saviors
. I did not work against a Peronist president nor will I ever do so.
I will always be by my side," he added.
Along the same lines, he pointed against the Minister of the Interior, Eduardo "Wado" de Pedro, and opined that "it is not serious that government ministers appear" to compete with the president in a STEP.
"
If you wanted to run, you would have to resign
," he said.
Minutes later, when questioned by the table about a possible candidacy for Sergio Massa, Anibal differentiated the goals and stressed that the Tigrense took "a difficult bag" and is putting his body on it.
And he made a particular comment, suggesting that Pedro spent almost a year without reporting to Alberto.
"(Massa) talks to the president every day, it's a different case.
Wado went a year without seeing him.
Do they need more explanation than that? These are things that have to be reviewed," launched Anibal.
The Minister of Security also questioned the officials and leaders who criticize the management of Alberto Fernández in the Casa Rosa and described the President's mandate as "excellent."
