A car even pushed an untaped activist off the road.
Düsseldorf – Climate activists from the “Last Generation” group blocked Berliner Allee in Düsseldorf on Wednesday afternoon.
The action caused long traffic jams in downtown Düsseldorf.
Motorists reacted aggressively and are said to have tried several times to drag some of the activists off the road.
Meanwhile, the “Last Generation” even posted a video on their Twitter page, showing a person in their car repeatedly hitting the road, pushing an activist forward a few times until the climate protester steps aside and that allows the car to drive through.
The "Last Generation" tweeted: "Like here in Düsseldorf, we are sometimes pushed away by cars, but our protest continues!"

Climate stickers block Berliner Allee in Düsseldorf
The activists had blocked the important street in downtown Düsseldorf around 4 p.m., reports 24RHEIN.
The traffic then backed up.
The protesters were one man and five women, as reported by
RP Online
.
The mood among drivers quickly became aggressive.
Several of them are said to have insulted the activists.
One tried a couple of times to drag a protester off the street, but he kept coming back.

Shortly before the police arrived, three of the activists glued themselves to the street, a police spokesman confirmed when asked by 24RHEIN.
Emergency services cordoned off the area and carried
the activists who were not taped off the street, according to
RP Online .
Then the hands of the three "climate gluers" were gradually removed from the road using cooking oil and scrapers.
"A maximum of 45 minutes elapsed between sticking and removing the last person," said a police spokesman.
This was significantly faster than the climate protest on February 6th in Düsseldorf.
"A climate activist injured his hand slightly," reports the spokesman.
However, it is unclear whether the injuries were caused by adhesion or detachment.
Cooking oil in the patrol car – police prepared for climate sticker
The activists are now threatened with investigations into violations of the assembly law, "because it was not a registered action," explains the police spokesman, and because of coercion.
It is not yet possible to say whether and how some of the drivers will be investigated.
“We will check whether there have been any criminal offences.
If that is the case and reports are made, then of course we will also investigate in these cases. ”The police spokesman did not want to comment on the incident from the Twitter video on Wednesday evening.
However, the police are currently fundamentally sensitized and are getting better prepared for such actions by climate activists.
“More and more patrol cars are currently being equipped with cooking oil.
In addition, we train our emergency services for such incidents," said the spokesman.
One is also prepared for possible actions at carnival in Düsseldorf.
The actions of climate activists have increased significantly in recent weeks.
