After spending nearly 10 months incarcerated in Russia, WNBA star Brittney Griner will return to basketball next season after signing a one-year deal with the Phoenix Mercury, a source with direct knowledge told CNN.
The two-time Olympic champion was released in December, after spending nearly 300 days in Russian custody, in a prisoner exchange with Russia.
As soon as she returned home, she vowed to play in the WNBA again, and now she's following through on it.
