Jackie Vadoro took a genetic test to know more about her family roots. As a result, she received a life-changing phone call from a homicide detective. Watch her fascinating story

I did a DNA test and got involved in an unsolved murder case (@hittheroadjackie)

When homicide detectives called Jackie Vaduro last January claiming that the DNA test she took matched that of a 36-year-old murdered in a still-unsolved case, she thought they were joking.

But they were completely serious.

The 31-year-old Vaduro uploaded her story to TikTok in several videos that explained what she went through.

"I knew I didn't do anything wrong," she said, "but when the police call you about a murder, you get stressed and wonder what you're involved in."

Vadoro found herself at the center of a murder case.

"A detective from the San Diego homicide unit called me," explained Vaduro, who lives in Palm Springs, "The detective said my DNA might match Jane Doe, an unknown girl who was murdered and whose body was found in 1986. She was shot to death and brutally dumped on the side of the road in San Diego." .

This is her story (to be continued)

No one ever reported her missing and to this day detectives don't know exactly who this girl is.

"Now I think I may be related to her because of the DNA test I did," she explained.

The DNA test that Wadoro did is a 23andMe test - a test that people do for a fee and after three weeks to a month they get answers and information about possible relatives, health hazards and more.

"The detectives called me half an hour after the DNA results came in and said, 'Jackie, thank you very much.' This is the biggest breakthrough in this murder case in all these years," she said, "You match Jane Doe." .

But Jackie's family doesn't know Jane Doe or her family roots at all.

Police say she was likely a second or third cousin of Vaduro's.

"The police think she was a bastard and unwanted child and that is why no one reported her missing."

The detectives investigated the findings and believe that Jane Doe is related to Jackie's mother.

"The police said that the body was shot once in her chest," Vaduro said, "They don't think she was a prostitute or prostitute because she was well dressed. She was a really beautiful and well-kept girl. She may have moved from Mexico to the United States and lost contact with her family.

It's really sad."

And it keeps getting crazier

@hittheroadjackie Wow this just keeps getting crazier!!!

Waiting for updates

Now Vaduro is waiting for more updates to know more details about her family roots.

"Jane and I share the same DNA. She is a part of me," said Vaduro, "I am happy that I can tell her story in the hope that the horrible man who murdered her will be caught."
