A 48-year-old man was killed in a serious accident.
On the A9 he had crashed into a truck for reasons that were not yet clear.
The collision happened on Sunday, February 19, around 12:50 a.m.
Fatal accident on the A9 in Bavaria: drivers crash into trucks
As the police announced, the accident happened on the A9 near Münchberg in Upper Franconia.
According to the information, the man drove into a trailer truck in the right lane of the highway without braking.
The truck driver noticed the impact and braked.
He pulled over to the right shoulder and got out to check the cause of the impact.
He saw the car of the 48-year-old driver who was stuck under the rear of the trailer.
When the immediately alerted emergency doctor arrived, the man had already died of his injuries, according to the police.

It is still unclear how the accident happened or why the 48-year-old driver crashed into the truck without braking.
The 40-year-old truck driver was also slightly injured.
