Some citizens in the district of Fürstenfeldbruck have the last name Fasching.
At foolish times, one of them prefers not to reserve a table.

– Actually, for Bernd Fasching (53) it should be fun on Shrove Tuesday.
But similar to his namesake, the Mammendorf culture consultant Anton Fasching, who even officially accompanies the carnival guild as house and court photographer of the Olching carnival, the Bruck taxi driver, who works full-time at the air base, has no problems with his surname these days.

Mr. Fasching, what happens if you make a phone call today or tomorrow?
When I am called, relatively few because the people who want something from me know who is answering.
However, based on my experience so far, I will be careful not to reserve a table for a restaurant visit in my name these days.
Nobody will believe you on Shrove Tuesday.
Have you ever suffered from the name in your life so far?
In my school days I was actually teased sometimes.
I remember this mostly happening in 1st-4th grades.
Otherwise there were no blatant disadvantages.
It was harder for my late father though.
He was an innkeeper and his name was Kaspar.
There were sometimes sayings like the carnival puppet or something.
Did you also have a nickname along those lines?
Actually only on the soccer field when I'm out and about with the free time footballers from FC Powerful and the Fraggles.
If someone calls El Carnevale there, I know who is meant.
Does the family talk about the name?
For my wife – her maiden name is king, by the way – and me, changing my name when we got married was not an issue.
We haven't even touched on that.
I have never heard anything negative about this from our three children either.
How many carnivals currently live in the district?
There are now 13 people in our family, one nephew even works in the registry office.
We have our roots in Mammendorf, but are neither related nor related by marriage to the culture officer there.
The most important question at the end: Do you go to carnival balls?
Of course, that's a matter of honor!
We have even designed our own floats for the carnival parades with the recreational footballers.
And a visit to the legendary sportsman's ball in Emmering is always a must.
In the Tagblatt, I even made it onto the front page with a picture when I dressed up as an “easy girl”.
