Miguel Pichetto redoubles the bet against the Minister of Women: "I will be a dinosaur, but I do not regret it"

2023-02-20T18:07:10.998Z

The former candidate for vice president of Juntos por el Cambio maintained that the portfolio headed by Ayelén Mazzina "is a ministry of intense minorities, of a ghetto."

After the controversy over her statements about the head of the Ministry of Women and Diversities, Ayelén Mazzina, whom she questioned in her position for being a lesbian, Miguel Ángel Pichetto ratified his considerations about

the official: "I will be a dinosaur, but I won't I regret".

Mauricio Macri's former vice-presidential candidate said that his statements about the minister were misinterpreted and he again questioned the

official's alleged lack of criticism of the murder of Lucio Dupuy.

"I believe that there were no demonstrations on this case. The Ministry

could have appeared in the situation of the child, as in the case of the death of the policewoman (

for the murder of officer Maribel Salazar, in Retiro), but since it is

canal He

is a policeman, he can alter some ideological vision, ghetto politics," Pichetto questioned.

"I have not had any type of discrimination against any sexual identity, I have encouraged laws in Congress that are in line with the rights that Mazzina defends," he defended himself.

Then he began to counterattack: "With this minority ministry, because

basically the Women's Ministry is a ministry of intense minorities,

ghetto politics, small, oriented towards minorities of sexual identity."

"The Ministry of Women, which has 261 deaths from femicide, which increased the budget in an extraordinary way and allocates 40 billion to subsidies, should also dedicate itself to analyzing

the inequality of women in labor terms

, where the lack of work has a great impact more in women than in men", he questioned.

Then he also defended his career regarding the defense of minority rights and pointed against Pope Francis.

"When you have to have a minority policy, I voted for the laws, I voted for everything. When not even the president spoke...

I was in favor of equal marriage,

I argued with (Jorge) Bergoglio, who was against it. Now the change seems good to me endorsing homosexuality," he said.

"At that moment (Bergoglio) said 'be careful, the devil is loose in Buenos Aires' to a group of cloistered nuns. The devil was the Senate at that time, which was going to deal with the issue," he recalled.

A few days ago, Pichetto was at the center of the controversy when he questioned the suitability of Mazzina due to his sexual orientation.

"She is a lesbian, they could have put a woman

," considered the Peronist leader, who defined himself as "politically incorrect."

"What is the Ministry of Women for?", they questioned him on LN+, in the middle of a debate over the crime of Lucio Dupuy.

Without turning around, she replied:

"It is in the hands of a girl who is a lesbian."

"It's okay (that she is a lesbian). I believe in individual freedom, I believe in the right to happiness and I voted for all the laws of equality. But if it is the

Ministry of Women, they could have put a woman

," she reaffirmed .

"She is a woman," the journalist Jonatan Viale questioned him.

Pichetto responded: "She is a woman with others... Yes, yes. She is fine. I am politically incorrect."

"A woman who recognizes herself as a woman. Now you recognize yourself as a Mapuche, a woman, a binary ... It's a very interesting game," he concluded.

Ayelén Mazzina, 33, has been in charge of the Ministry of Women, Gender and Diversity since October 10,

when she replaced Elizabeth Gómez Alcorta, who had been in office since December 10, 2019. She was the openly prime minister nationwide lesbian

Before Pichetto's outburst, he went out to answer him.

"I am a woman, lesbian, feminist and Minister of Women, Gender and Diversity of the Nation and

I invite Pichetto to talk about ESI when he feels ready

," the minister wrote in reply.

One of the first to cross it had been President Alberto Fernández, who quoted Pichetto's phrase on Twitter and opined that "the dinosaurs are going to disappear."

This Monday, Pichetto also picked up that glove.

"I may be a dinosaur but I don't regret it. I take care of what I say," he said.
