The existing Lidl market on Gruber Strasse is to be replaced by a new wooden building.
However, the timing of this is still in the stars.
Poing – The Lidl market on Gruber Strasse in Poing will be replaced by a new building.
An exact date has not yet been determined.
What the building should look like was presented at the most recent municipal council meeting.
Fabian Schrom, who is responsible for branch development in Upper Bavaria at Lidl, spoke of a nationwide "pilot project" that could serve as a model for other new buildings.
The special feature: The new market will be a timber construction.
Nationwide "pilot project": Lidl near Munich is to be replaced by a new building
Schrom explained the planning and the reasons.
The current building, which opened in 2008, has meanwhile become too small and no longer meets modern and ecological requirements.
For example, it is still heated with an old oil heater.
In addition, the rooms for employees are no longer up to date and also too small.
Because more staff have been added over the years, which in turn is due to the population growth in Poing and the associated increase in customers.

The new building will be more spacious, but the range will remain 1:1 the same as it is now, says Schrom.
New for the customers: the shelves would be lower, there would be more freedom of movement in the aisles, he listed.
The new building will have a fully equipped photovoltaic roof
The company also examined the variants of expansion and conversion, but ultimately came to the decision to demolish the old store and build a new one on the existing floor slab.
One of the reasons for the new building: "There is no photovoltaic system on the concrete roof of the current building," said portfolio manager Fabian Schrom.
The roof of the new building will be completely covered with photovoltaics.
A green façade is also planned.
The parking lot will also be larger and more spacious.
According to the Lidl manager, it is planned that the individual parking spaces will be distributed.

That means fewer parking spaces on the property, but more convenience.
Three electric charging stations and empty pipes in the ground are planned so that more can be installed at a later date.
And: According to Schrom, there will be more bicycle parking spaces and five additional parking spaces for cargo bikes.
The municipal council decided unanimously that the presented planning serves as a basis for the necessary changes to the project-related development plan.
When asked by the local council, Lidl portfolio manager Fabian Schrom replied that the construction phase would take a maximum of six months.
