Both are the latest digital transmission formats for radio.
DAB and DAB+ differ in the type of compressed data that is transmitted.
DAB
uses the MPEG-1 method introduced in the 1980s for compression.
It was originally intended to "shrink" films to the size of an audio CD.
DAB+
uses the more advanced MPEG-4 compression standard to compress the data.
Here, a single transmitter requires much less space.
This allows your DAB+ radio to transmit more stations and additional information.
