Today, the UN Security Council condemned the Israeli occupation's decision to establish thousands of settlement units in the West Bank, affirming its opposition to all unilateral measures taken by the occupation in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Wafa Agency stated that the council expressed, in a statement issued by its presidency, with the support of its 15 members, its deep concern and dissatisfaction with the announcement by “Israel” on the 12th of this month of its intention to continue expanding the settlements, stressing its opposition to all unilateral measures, including the establishment and expansion of Israeli settlements and the seizure of lands. and the demolition of Palestinian homes and displacement.

The Security Council stressed adherence to the current historical situation in the holy places in the occupied city of Jerusalem, in word and deed, and the need to fully comply with international humanitarian law, including the protection of the civilian population and facilitating the access of humanitarian workers to the population in need, reaffirming the need to take appropriate steps to ensure the safety of civilians and their protection.

The occupation recently announced its intention to establish 9,409 settlement units to expand settlements established in the West Bank, which threatens to seize more strategic and vital Palestinian lands in the vicinity of Jerusalem, Ramallah, the Jordan Valley, the mountains overlooking them, the areas leading to them, and the areas south of Hebron and south of Nablus.
